1.France- South Afrika 

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa was welcomed by his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron at the presidential palace in Paris this past weekend.

Discussions between the two men were due to focus on ways of strengthening political, economic, and strategic cooperation between the two countries. The meeting also provides an opportunity to discuss regional security, including conflicts in Africa, and broader global issues countries.

2.    South Afrika – SADC Media Workshop 

 The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) will host a media workshop today focusing on preparations for the upcoming 46th Ordinary SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government in Ethekweni, South Afrika.

3.    Kenya – IEA, AU, Norway,USA

African countries have secured $900 million in new financial commitments to expand access to clean cooking. (Clean cooking refers to the use of low-emission fuels and technologies, such as ethanol, biogas and electricity, instead of traditional fuels like charcoal and firewood) 

The meeting brought together Kenyan President William Ruto, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright, African Union commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy Lerato Mataboge and IEA executive director Fatih Birol, among others.

4.    In our historical archives, it was on this day 13 July 1916 when a South Afrikan linguist and educationist was born in Moruleng, Rustenburg, Northwest Province, Ernest Sedumedi Moloto. He was an excellent linguist and spoke Setswana, his mother tongue, English, Afrikaans and Dutch equally fluently. Moloto was once married to the South African struggle hero Ellen Khuzwayo. 

Prof Moloto was not only a devoted teacher and a lover of his language and culture but inspired many youngsters to take up leadership positions in the service of particularly the rural and tribal people.
