  1. Ethiopia – Addis Ababa NEBE Releases Preliminary Results From 24 Constituencies As Prosperity Party Dominates The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) Chairperson, Melatwork Hailu, has released preliminary results from 24 constituencies, showing the ruling Prosperity Party winning all but one of the seats announced so far in federal parliamentary and regional council races. 
  2. Namibia – Windhoek Qatar Energy and Shell have announced a new oil discovery off the coast of Namibia. The two oil companies are partners in the petroleum exploration licence (PEL) 39 in the Orange Basin and announced the discovery this week. "Shell, alongside its partners Qatar Energy and the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor), has reported encouraging exploration results from its Merlin-1X exploration well. 
  3. DR Kongo – Rwanda AFC/M23 rebels and the Rwandan army have committed numerous war crimes in eastern DR Congo, according to a new report by Human Rights Watch. In the aftermath of the capture of the city of Goma on January 30, 2025, when 11 trucks left the Unity Stadium with approximately 1,700 people on board and headed north towards Rutshuru, a campaign of forced recruitment began. HRW, which conducted some 200 interviews with former detainees, describes it as systematic.
