Universities are meant to be places of learning—but what happens when the people doing the teaching are pushed beyond their limits? Disturbing reports have emerged from Unisa, with claims that overwhelming workloads are taking a devastating toll on staff. Following three staff deaths in June and several stress-related hospitalisations, serious questions are being asked about the working conditions at the institution.
