Does size really matter when it comes to… world maps? You bet it does! For centuries, the way we’ve looked at maps has made Africa appear far smaller than it actually is. But that could be about to change. A United Nations General Assembly vote has backed a “Correct the Map” resolution supported by Togo and the African Union, with 164 countries voting in favour. Six abstained — and the USA was the only country to vote against it. So, why has the way we draw the world been such a big deal?
