Ten young South African chefs have been selected to represent their country at the World Culinary Cup in Luxembourg in November, and they still need public support to make the trip possible. The fundraising campaign is underway on BackaBuddy and every contribution brings Team Masakhane one step closer to the world stage.

Leading the team as Head Coach is Chef Donaldson Madubela, born and raised in Mashaeng, Fouriesburg in the eastern Free State, a chef whose culinary roots run deep in South African heritage and indigenous ingredients. Drawing inspiration from his grandmother’s traditional sour sorghum porridge and passionate about showcasing South Africa’s quality local produce and heritage cuisine on the international stage, Chef Madubela is preparing 10 young chefs to compete against the world’s best in Luxembourg.
