Adelaide United star Stefan Mauk chats with David & Will on FIVEAA Breakfast about his new show.

Bid to remove sports betting online and from our broadcasts of live sport. Our ex Guests team have been behind a big push to do this locally. The Here for the Game campaign and Adelaide United have been pioneers in this space, and Stepford Mork is a pioneer on five Double A because from tonight one of the stars of the Reds is going to be launching the New World Game Show from six point thirty till seven o'clock each Thursday night. Stephan, Good morning to you, mate, and welcome to five Double A.

Good morning guys. How's it going.

Yeah, well, mate, I've got to say I'm thrilled that you're doing this. And obviously, as we were saying before, you know, we've got Charlie Dixon does his show, We've got you know, the Phishing show. We like to sort of, you know, cater to people's different interests in needs. But about time the World Game got the attention it deserved.

Yeah, no, thanks, I think it's it's something that's probably been missing, you know, not just I guess in Adelaide, but in Australia, I would say, and especially here in South Australia, we can be the kind of a plant and getting the world game out there. There's so many people since I posted it that have reached out. I s they can't wait. They listen to the show, they would have loved a lot more football or soccer talk on there. So yeah, I'm really excited to get going, and yeah, just to see where it can lead to it.

You've been doing a podcast for a while, which is terrific, so you've already been making waves in this space. You're going to be doing it whilst playing as well. Because the A League season launch is not too far off. The Premier League season starts this weekend. Can't get a prediction out out of you for the Reds because I imagine you'll be a little bit based on that one. But who do you think win's the Premier League this year?

Well, I'm probably just as bias. I'm a massive Arsenal fan, so I think go one better. Yeah, exactly. So I think we'll finally take it to Manchester City. It's our year. We've come very close for the last two seasons. But in saying that, Manchester City with Perp Guadi over there, they're a well oiled machine, so it's exciting. That's one of the things that we're definitely talking about which can predicts and yeah, excited that that starts this weekend and then in the next couple of months we start our season. We've actually got an Australia Cup game in two weeks against the local league in Perth, which is another good opportunity for us.

I imagine you'll be keeping an eye on Ossie's abroad as part of the World Game Show on on five Double A, and part of that will be tracking the progress of your former teammate Nesta Raukunda. Who did you see on the weekend Harry kane off Nesty on at half time for Baying and he provided an assist. It must be amazing as he's former teammates, seeing that the one game away from the start of the bundes Lega season and it looks like he's going to be in the in the squad and potentially playing some minutes off the bench.

Yeah, it's really amazing. I think that's been the talk on social media is you know, look at this this photo on all the apps where it is, like you said, Nester on Harry Keanoff, nobody probably ever would have thought that would have happened. Maybe in a friendly game where there's you know, all these old X players or something like that and you've got an ossie running around there. But you know, he's he's proven that he can do it here in the A League and I think it just goes to show the standard of the A League is actually quite good because you know, although he was amazing, you know, there was there was games where he obviously couldn't play too well. And he's gone over there with I think the right mindset, the right attitude and he's proven that he's good enough. Australian players are good enough, and you know, it's a very proud moment I think for you know, for all South Australians, for the club here, to show that we've got a pathway. If you're young, if you're believing that you want to play for Bayern Munich or Chelsea or Arsenal, these big teams will provide you that platform if you're willing to work hard and you know, and go over there and do it.

So Stephan, here's the plan from here mate. You me and will need to catch up at some point because two years from now and once you've got the show bettered down, air plane needs to be with the support of local sponsors. I don't know, Maybe like Powell's Liquor would be a good fit given they see so much tequila and mess gal. We're going to go to Mexico for the twenty twenty six World Cup. How does that sound?

That sounds pretty pretty good to me. I think the best one Mexico, Mexico, America and Canada. I think Mexico is the number one place I'd want to be going.

Out of those trees for sure, No mat if you need to correspondent outside of the studiosed techa, I am your man.

Well, Stephan, it was. We loved it when you came back from Japan and played for the Reds in the second half of last year, and looking forward to your donning the Red again this year. But as much as that, looking forward to your joining us here on five double h and every Thursday night, looking forward to the show.

Mate. Thanks for your time as my thanks, guys, appreciate it.

Stephan mook Adelaide, United States speaks really well. It would be terrific to listen to and all those sorts of things total, that'll be great.

So many players doing the podcast now and just they're starting and it's like it's like punk bands. You know, it's like garage music. You just go, I'm gonna plug myself in, see how I go. And you know, it's how Nirvana started. So many people go from how hard can it be? And then you know, next thing you know, they're actually really successful mainstream broadcast.

I think it's going to be great.
