Asra Q. Nomani, an accomplished author, journalist and former reporter for the Wall Street Journal, is recognized globally for her insightful commentary and thought-provoking analysis across prominent media platforms from MSNBC and CNN to Fox News, the Washington Post, and BBC, among others. She can be reached at asra@asranomani.com. You can support her journalism with donations to the Pearl Project, a nonprofit initiative.

With a notable focus on issues related to Muslim reform, women's rights, parental rights and anti-semitism, her writings have been featured in publications from the New York Times to TIME magazine, Sojourners magazine, and Jewish Journal.

Born in Bombay, India, and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia, Nomani embodies a courageous voice of reason and integrity. Following the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001, she demonstrated her commitment to journalism by reporting from Pakistan for Salon magazine, earning accolades including an Online Journalists Award for feature reporting.

Nomani's dedication to seeking truth and justice was further expressed with the tragic kidnapping and murder of her friend Daniel Pearl in Karachi, Pakistan. On Jan. 23, 2002, Pearl left a home Nomani was renting in Karachi, never to return. Nomani was a leader in the hunt to find Pearl, who had been kidnapped. The journey to find Pearl is portrayed in the film "A Mighty Heart," featuring actress Angelina Jolie.

Nomani was an award-winning professor in the practice of journalism at Georgetown University, where she co-led the Pearl Project—a faculty-student investigation into Pearl’s brutal murder. She emerged as a passionate advocate for Israel and the Jewish community, raising awareness about the perils of anti-Semitism and lending her voice to platforms like HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher."
