President Donald Trump is escalating his criticism of the U.S. Supreme Court after a ruling blocked his administration from imposing new requirements on mail-in ballots ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. White House correspondent Jon Decker breaks down Trump's criticism of Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett — all three of whom he appointed during his first term — and Attorney General Todd Blanche's response when Decker questioned him about the president's comments.
The Supreme Court left in place an injunction preventing the U.S. Postal Service from implementing new mail-ballot requirements before the November election. Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissented, while Kavanaugh agreed that election officials did not have sufficient time to implement the changes.
Also, the financial cost of the U.S. war with Iran continues to grow. The Congressional Budget Office released a new assessment of Defense Department costs associated with the conflict, including the financial and military implications of replacing weapons used during combat operations.
Plus, the battle over the Kennedy Center intensifies. Its board voted to close the main building for up to two years for renovations after a federal judge again blocked efforts to put Trump's name on the building. Trump subsequently threatened to halt the renovation unless the ruling is overturned.
