Perth has been saturated with rain overnight, with more than 20mm falling in the city’s rain gauge, bringing the total amount of rain for the month so far to about half the monthly average.

That’s despite the fact we are only six days into September.

The Bureau of Meteorology has recorded 21mm of rain since late Monday afternoon, bringing the total amount of rain for the month so far to almost 40mm.

The average for September is 82mm.
