A woman has been found dead on the doorstep of a police station south of Perth just hours after she was released from custody.

Rockingham police officers discovered the woman’s body in a garden bed outside Rockingham Police Station at 6am Thursday.

Assistant Commissioner Allan Adams said police had “dealt with” the woman late Wednesday night for a drink driving offence.
