Sadly we learned last night that Tricia the elephant - the grand old dame of Perth Zoo - passed away. The 65 year-old elephant was one of the oldest in the world - and provided countless memories for generations of families in this city.

The zoo had prepared Perth for her passing earlier in the week, but it was still a bit of a moment when the news came through - because she did feel like “Perth’s Pet”.

Talk about the life of Tricia, and the legacy she will leave is WA’s Environment Minister Reece Whitby.
