With a climate emergency looming, governments and industry are looking at replacing traditional coal fired energy sources with renewable energy.

Among solar, wave and wind energy, nuclear energy is often thrown around as an idea.

But it’s a bit more complicated than that…. Australia has already signed a multi billion dollar nuclear submarine deal, and in WA, we’re closer than ever to having an operating uranium mine.

So, is this the solution? My next guest is a man who’s literally written the book on it. The book is called Long Half-Life, and the author, Emeritus Professor at Griffith University, and former President of the Australian Conservation Foundation, and one of Australia’s respected environmental scientists, Professor Ian Lowe.
