A 26-year-old man has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car while walking along the side of Kwinana Freeway.

Traffic Enforcement Group officers said the driver of the dark-coloured SUV did not stop after hitting the man near the Mill Point Road on-ramp about 1.35am on Thursday.

The pedestrian was taken from the crash scene in South Perth to Royal Perth Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
