A man is fighting for life after a brawl outside a Perth pub overnight.

The man fell backwards and hit his head on the kerb after the alleged fight broke out outside the Grand Central Hotel on Helena Street in Midland about 9.20pm on Thursday.

Police said the 37-year-old man was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with serious head injuries.
