WA has recorded 10,013 new daily cases but crucially no deaths.

The infection tally on Monday was down from Sunday when 11,557 cases were reported. It followed a fall from Saturday when there were 14,245 cases.

The number of people in hospital with COVID also fell, to 323 patients from 326 on Sunday.

There are nine people in ICU, down from 11 on Sunday.

There are now 87,103 active COVID cases across WA.

The latest figures come as schools across the State are being forced to merge classes and cancel specialist lessons as the surge in cases takes out up to a quarter of their staff.
