Don’t get distracted… by controversies like yesterday’s Women’s Network logo. 

Yes, it looked like a wang… And it was a bit embarrassing for the Morrison Government… But Get over it. 

When it comes to the Federal Election… stuff like that… isn’t going to move the needle with voters. 

A much bigger problem for the Coalition… is the cost of living. 

According to the Australian Council of Trade Unions… The Average Aussie was 800 dollars WORSE off last year… than they were in 2020. 

Given 2020 was pretty crappy too… and this year isn’t looking that great… it’s fair to say the pandemic has been one giant… shit… sandwich for Australians. 

Consumer prices are up 3.5 percent… while wages grew by 2.3 percent. 

And depending on what industry you’re in… your wage might not have grown at all. 

Meanwhile… childcare costs are up… Rents are up… especially in WA… where they’re now so high… people are choosing between paying the rent and eating. 

The cost of groceries are up… and ongoing supply chain issues… will see that continue. 

And, of course… petrol has gone through the roof….  

So what does this all mean? 

Well, it means that voters have been hit in the back pocket… and hit hard. 

And what do people tend to do when they’ve been hit?... Well, They hit back. 

And the Coalition is looking… like they’ll be the punching bag… at the Federal Election. 

This puts so much pressure… on Treasurer Josh Frydenberg… to nail his budget when he hands it down in two weeks. 

It’s the most important of his career… and could play a role in determining who wins the election. 

Spoiler alert: get ready for Frydo to spend like there’s no tomorrow… Because, for the Coalition, there might not be. 

He’ll be like a rapper in a Las Vegas night club… raining dollar bills on us voters…  

Expect… tax cuts… spending initiatives… rebates… 

A cynical person would call it an attempt to buy votes… And, to be honest, that’s exactly what it is. 

But after the last couple of years... we all deserve it. 

So make it rain, Frydo. I’m here for it.
