On a day when at least 18 kids and a teacher were killed in a horrific mass shooting in America it may seem a little silly to spend time talking about a spud attack in Perth.

We will, of course, get to the Texas school shooting a bit later in the show…

But I do want to focus right now… on the story that broke yesterday about a 28 year old man… who was hit in the head by a potato… while riding an e-scooter along West Coast Drive… near Mettams Pool in Trigg.

It’s a very popular spot… for people to exercise… and pretty much any time of day… you can find walkers… joggers and cyclists… using the footpath… that stretches from Trigg all the way up to Hillarys.

This bloke was minding his own business,  when some absolute morons in a white sedan drove past and threw a potato out the window of their car…

It was no accident, these clowns thought it’d be funny… to hurl the spud…

Maybe they were filming it for TikTok, it certainly wouldn’t surprise me.

All I know is it sure wasn’t funny for the victim.

The potato, which would have been travelling at considerable speed…  hit him square in the face and He sustained serious facial injuries.

In fact… the man was blinded in one eye.

And I’m talking blinded for life.

Mirrabooka cops are now hunting for the perpetrators. And I can give the police a clue.

I can 100 percent guarantee it was young men.

Whether we’re talking teens or early 20s, it could only be young men who would do something so callous… with such disregard for common sense.

And I bet there are other young men out there… who are looking at this story and thinking it would be hilarious to attempt a copycat attack.

Gotta be honest with you… It makes me sick…. And embarrassed to be bloke.

So I bloody hope… the police catch up with the idiots who threw that potato… and they’re made to pay… the maximum penalty for this crime.

Sadly, I don’t think that will make a jot of difference… when it comes to preventing the next young man from doing something stupid.

But having one less of these losers on the streets is a good start.
