An experienced skipper who was pulled from the ocean off WA’s coast with two friends has shared details of the terrifying moment his boat was overpowered in a wild ocean storm.

The three seafaring mates were lucky to escape with their lives after their yacht overturned in treacherous conditions off Jurien Bay early on Tuesday.

The following day skipper Shane Scholes teared up as he recounted the frightening ordeal.
