A baby girl has died after a homebirth went horribly wrong in Perth’s east, despite a desperate attempt by the newborn’s father to revive her.

The baby girl was born at a Wattle Grove home about 3am on Saturday, but wasn’t breathing when she arrived.

Only a doula and the baby’s father were present, when the baby became stuck during labour.

Principal midwifery officer  from the Australian College of Midwives, Kellie Wilton joins the show.
