The federal government is promising a crackdown amid reports by the ABC,  the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age that the Medicare system is being rorted by up to $8 billion a year.

Government Services and NDIS Minister Bill Shorten said the “vast majority” of general practitioners did the right thing, but payments integrity was a problem with the system… and he said some crooks were taking advantage of it.
