A group calling themselves the Professionals League under the African National Congress says it is time to start having a different conversation about the socio-economic challenges facing SA. 
They are calling for what they have termed a CODESA-style convention which they say must look at land issues, white privilege among others to address South Africa's poverty issues. We spoke to the Secretary General of the Professionals League Thulani Ngubane on some of these issues.

Political Analyst Professor, Ntsikelelo Breakfast says he hopes the interventions announced by President Ramaphosa in his SONA speech to fix the water crisis and the state of local government will bear fruit. In dealing with the current water crisis faced by a number of municipalities across the country, Ramaphosa announced action plans. The establishment of a national water crisis committee and the litigation against municipalities for contravening the provisions of the National Water Act, primarily the unlawful discharges of pollution were amongst some of the top priorities. Burundian President, Evariste Ndayishimiye has officially taken over as the new African Union chairperson. He succeeded Angolan President, João Lourenço. African leaders are meeting in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa for the 39th ordinary session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the AU.
