The hospitality sector continues to show resilience despite global economic pressures that threaten to bring down sectors to pre-pandemic levels. According to Stats South Africa the tourism sector saw total arrivals reaching 8.92 Million in 2024, making a contribution of 8.8 percent to GDP. This has enabled the support of 1.68 Million jobs from hotel decor, furniture to textiles, food, beverages and guided experiences. Local producers and suppliers remain at the centre of making sure that tourists receive an authentic South African experience.
