NCC engages manufacturers to ensure fewer vehicle recalls in South Africa

The National Consumer Commission this week notified consumers that  Toyota South Africa Motors is recalling certain Toyota Urban Cruiser vehicles that were made available for sale through the Toyota South Africa dealer network nationwide . The recall affects two thousand two hundred and eight (2208) vehicles. Last week, The NCC also confirmed product recall of certain Qashqai Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) models, Toyota Land Cruiser 300, Lexus LX600 and Ford is recalling certain Ranger bakkies and Everest models. The question we are asking this morning is why are we seeing more vehicle recalls.. To get to the crux of the matter,  Bongiwe Zwane spoke to  Pheto Ntaba , spokesperson for the National Consumer Commission and Tshethle Litheko , Chief Policy Officer at NAAMSA -
