The University of South Africa (Unisa) is set to host the 15th Annual Es’kia Mphahlele Memorial Lecture on Saturday, 07 September 2024. This esteemed event honors the legacy of the acclaimed literary figure, Prof. Es’kia Mphahlele. This year’s lecture will be delivered by Professor Siphamandla Zondi, Director of the Institute for Pan African Thought and Conversation at the University of Johannesburg. Titled "Es’kia Mphahlele in Search of a Decolonial Turn," the lecture will explore contemporary themes under the banner "The African Writer as a Prophet and Social Critic in Contemporary Times." The lecture aims to foster debate, promote intellectual engagement, and advance Unisa's social impact.
