Tonight’s #TuesdayTakeOver guest is an award winning author and bookstore owner who’s passionate about literacy especially in children. Sewela has had the honour of facilitating book discussions at two big book festivals in May – The Franschhoek Literary Fair and the Kingsmead Book Fair. And recently, the mother of two was announced as a judge for the prestigious Sunday Times Literary Award for the non-fiction panel. This evening together with her guests who are also in the literary space discuss literature under the theme “our stories. Our heritage”

 

GUEST: Lorraine Sithole - Publisher and Festival Director: Gauteng International Book Festival

Sithole is an avid reader, publisher and writer. She is the founder of the BookWorms Book Club and has contributed to these collections: Black Tax: Burden or Ubuntu, edited by Niq Mhlongo, and When Secrets Become Stories, edited by Sue Nyathi. 

She is also the chairman of the International Book On Books for Young People South Africa. Lorraine Sithole credits her passion for books to a family tradition instilled in her by her grandmother decades ago. This meant that early childhood literary success was celebrated and reinforced.
