Legal Matters: HARASSMENT AND PROTECTION ORDERS

View descriptionShare

Harassment is defined in the Protection from Harassment Act (No. 17 of 2011) as any harsh, severe, or disrespectful action that harms or causes another person to believe that he or she will suffer. It might refer to general physical, emotional, financial, or psychic anguish. This is frequently the start of domestic violence. How can you identify a pattern of harassment, protect yourself, and obtain a protection order? Typically, the persons you are protecting yourself from are difficult to report or are near enough to know your routine and will be obstinate.
