New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art was transformed into a vibrant celebration of Black history and style as the annual Met Gala, known for its bold fashion statements. The blue-carpeted steps of the Met were filled with designers, models and celebrities showcasing their interpretations of this year’s theme, “Tailored for You.” Inspired by the exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” the dress code honoured the legacy and evolution of Black dandyism and its influence on global fashion.


While the night was filled with anticipation and glamour, reactions were mixed online. Many praised the cultural focus of the theme but others felt that several looks missed the mark, describing them as uninspired or too theatrical.
