A new South African film is bringing a personal story to local screens. “Don’t Let’s Go to the Dogs Tonight” adapted from Alexandra Fuller’s best-selling memoir and directed by Embeth Davidtz, will have its South African premiere on the 25th of July 2025. The film traces Zimbabwe’s turbulent transition from colonial Rhodesia through the eyes of a white child named Bobo. Set during the final days of the Rhodesian Bush War, as young Bobo navigates loss, family tensions and a country in conflict.
