Babes Wodumo steps back into the spotlight reclaiming her place at the centre of the Gqom movement. After stepping away from music to navigate the loss of her partner and creative collaborator Mampintsha, she now rises with renewed purpose, preparing to release her long-awaited EP MABESHINGO. As anticipation builds, Babes will first offer fans three new singles, she also ventures into a surprising new direction with Ngakuthanda Kahulu, a Maskandi track that reveals a different and deeply personal side of her artistry.
Since her explosive breakthrough with Wololo in 2015, Babes Wodumo has held a unique place in South African music, earning platinum certification, global recognition, and a feature on the Black Panther soundtrack. Though personal tragedy led her to step back, her creative fire was reignited during a recent song camp hosted by Content Connect Africa, where she collaborated with rising talents in the Gqom and EDM space.
