The legacy of Riky Rick is taking on new life in a powerful and lasting way. Instead of a traditional monument, the Riky Rick Foundation for the Promotion of Artivism is launching the Riky Rick and Anton Chaka Memorial Forest at Rustlers Valley Regenerative Farm and Eco Tourism.
Taking place on 18 and 19 July, the launch will feature memorial tree planting, storytelling, reflection sessions and activities that reconnect people with one another and with the land. The Memorial Forest also shines a light on mental wellbeing, environmental restoration and the power of collective healing, while inviting future generations to remember that the greatest legacies are not only honoured, they continue to grow. To further unpack we are joined His mother, activist and author Louisa Zondo.
