The last time UMD played Minnesota will be one year to the day from this year's season opener. At the 2017 Ice Breaker Tournament in Duluth, Parker Mackay knocked a shot off Minnesota goalie Eric Schierhorn in overtime to give the Bulldogs a 4-3 victory and a program-record eight straight wins over the Gophers. That streak will be on the line Oct. 6 as UMD hosts Minnesota at Amsoil Arena to kick off a home and home series on KDAL!
NOTE: As we mark the 75th season of UMD men's hockey (51st season on KDAL), we play back some of the great moments in Bulldog hockey history. To open the 2016 NCAA Tournament, UMD went out east to take on defending national champion Providence in the opening round. The underdog Bulldogs needed a second overtime before Karson Kuhlman secured the upset win.
