Who loves sharks?
For many, sharks are scary, but for Shannon Hurley sharks are like a kindred spirit. In this episode Shannon shares her life changing experience when she came, literally, face to face with a shark. In one brief but powerful moment she was transformed.
As an avid scuba diver and underwater photographer, Shannon has now travelled the world to explore our oceans and swim with sharks. She has helped rescue entangled birds and beached dolphins in her role as a marine ranger, and lobbied governments to protect our Great Barrier Reef and Australia's unique southern seas.
She is passionate about sharks because she knows there is a different story that needs to be told – one that involves their conservation, and how small individual actions can make a difference, starting with what seafood we decide to put on our plates.
In this episode she explains how we to can "Give a Fish" about sharks and why its important to be more informed about the seafood we eat.
