The Throw-InThe Throw-In

More Munster magic, Monaghan's attack/defence balance and Diarmuid Connolly's Dublin future

View descriptionShare
On this week's episode of The Throw-In, Will Slattery is joined by Conor McKeon of the Herald, Brendan Cummins and Joe Brolly.

The lads start off by discussing another dramatic week in the Munster hurling championship as Tipperary and Limerick snatched draws against Waterford and Cork.

Cummins talks about the areas his county have to improve to advance from Munster, while he also breaks down the causes of concern Cork have after wilting in another second half.

After going to Parnell Park, Conor discusses where Dublin are now at under Pat Gilroy after demolishing Offaly, and where the Faithful county must go from here after relegation to the Joe McDonough Cup.

The lads also analyse Galway's comprehensive win over Wexford, and all agree that the Tribesmen are the team to beat.

In football, Joe Brolly laments Monaghan's defensive style of play after they were upset by Fermanagh in the Ulster semi-final. He says that Malachy O'Rourke's men need a radical rethink if they want to get into All-Ireland contention.

Brolly also weighs in on Diarmuid Connolly potentially playing football in America this summer, and says that he doesn't think the star attacker will play for Dublin again as long as Jim Gavin is the manager.
