The company's quarterly earnings were better than expected, and it now expects to earn as much as $11 billion before interest and taxes this year, up from its prior forecast.

-Diksha Gera, Bloomberg Intelligence Global Fintech and Payments Analyst, recaps Visa earnings. Visa reported a fiscal third-quarter profit that beat Wall Street estimates, with adjusted net income rising 8% from a year earlier to $6.3 billion. The company will eliminate roughly 2,600 jobs, affecting about 7% of the workforce, as part of an effort to operate more efficiently and focus on its biggest opportunities for growth.
