-Matthew Bloxham, Bloomberg Intelligence Senior and Tech Analyst, joins to discuss how AI tensions between Anthropic and the administration were reignited by a essay posted by the company's Chief Executive Officer Dario Amodei, who called for government regulation and urged pacing development of the most advanced AI systems. President Donald Trump dismissed fears about AI risks as "a hoax" and rejected the idea of new rules, while leading AI developers have begun discussing AI safety concerns among themselves.
Separately, OpenAI is holding early talks with investors about a fresh funding round that would value the company at more than $1.2 trillion ahead of an initial public offering.

-Mandeep Singh, Global Head of Tech Research for Bloomberg Intelligence, continues the conversation on AI. According to Bloomberg Intelligence: AI spending is rising faster than corporate executives can track its impact, with only 9% saying they can confidently measure financial returns even as 92% see costs going up next year. As the predictable economics of software subscriptions shifts to agentic AI, two-thirds say AI use, measured in tokens, has at least doubled in a year.

According to BNEF: Passenger cars are the most significant form of road transport and will remain vital to the way people get around in the coming decades. NYC office conversions have moved from a niche strategy to a meaningful part of New York City's housing pipeline, with 74 projects permitted so far in 2026 and 122 underway across the city. North Bridge also sees hotels as the next repositioning wave. Hotel sales rose 28% in the first half of the year.
