The organization wrote to the Acting Director General of the Department of Employment and Labour (DEL) and the Commissioner of the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) on the disbursement of funding to the Basic Education Employment Initiative.

The organization is calling for the release of the funds as a provision of the 2024 Budget Speech where Minister Enoch Godongwana announced the extension of R7.4 billion for the Presidential Employment Initiative in the medium-term.
