The Global Slavery Index: Modern slavery has grown since 2018

The latest Global Slavery Index revealed that the number of people living in modern slavery has grown since 2018. The Index which is revealed by human rights group Walk Free, has also indicated that in 2021, seven million people in Africa were living under modern slavery. Some of the leading they countries they name on the continent are Eritrea, Mauritania, and South Sudan. Let’s start off by understanding what modern slavery is and how it has changed form from what we understand it to be. Also what are some of the contributing factors as we welcome…
