SADC ignoring the human rights abuses in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe's President Emmerson Mnangagwa commended the people of Zinbabwe for not bowing to pressure calling on them to boycott the SADC summit currently taking place in Harare. There has been fierce criticism against member states for ignoring the plight of pro-democracy activists. Many of them have reportedly been arrested and detained a few days before the summit started. Some commentators around the world feel that SADC has lost credibility by not acting against human rights abuses also not saying anything around the 2024 general elections that put Zanu-PF back in power.
