The targeted items Telecommunications giants have reported several hits at their towers by syndicates since the start of 2023 and lose millions of rands due to the vandalism & theft. In these coordinated hits, syndicates target generators, batteries, copper and diesel at base plants. Many of the stolen generators are sold in the black market or resold on platforms such as Facebook Marketplace.
