Last week Gauteng MEc for Infrastructure Development, Corporative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Jacob Mamabolo expressed disappointment at the running of the Emfuleni Municipality in the Vaal. He was speaking while visiting the municipality as part of the Gauteng Intergrated Cross-Boundry Law Enforcement and Service Delivery Programme. One of the solutions he spoke about was that of decisive leadership and targetted resource management. The MEC is unfortunately not available neither are his officials. So we thought to speak to the municipality, labour and residents about what is going on in that municipality and whether they are confident in the MEC’s intervention. And to discuss this, we are joined by…
Guest: Makhosonke Sangweni - Spokesperson for the Emfuleni Municipality
Guest: Bricks Mokolo - Community activist based in Sebokeng
Guest: Dr Msizi Myeza - CEO of the Council for the Built Environment (Will focus on skills transfer and mentoring of young professionals at municipal level. He has also commented to the sewage spills under this municipality)
