A political stand-off is playing out at KwaZulu-Natal’s Umkhanyakude District Municipality. The provincial government took a resolution to place the ANC-led municipality under administration. Then what happened is that the IFP’s Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi was barred from entering the premises of the municipality where he was going to formally introduce the appointed administrator, Bamba Ndwandwe.
