The Dr Ruth Mompati District Municipality has been in the news for all the wrong reasons in the past few weeks over allegations that they paid R38 million for a shack they say is a call centre. Opposition parties have been up in arms demanding that action be taken against whoever is involved. Allegations have also been made that the municipality did not follow the correct procurement procedures.
