The department says that the system aims to bring services closer and speedily to clients across the country thereby enhancing access to justice. Masters’ Deceased Estate Online Registration System

We received an anonymous call from a listener who alerted us to corruption within the Water and Sanitation Department in eThekwini Municipality. Back in 2022, the caller alleged that there was an emergency procurement contract worth R5 million paid into a business that was not tax compliant and no boereholes were built by the supplier. The supplier in question has said to be politically connected to the Municipal Manager at the time of the contract being awarded.

This weekend, the nursing fraternity will commemorate International Nurses Day under the theme: “Our Nurses. Our Future. The economic power of care”. In South Africa, the nurse-to-patient ratio remains notably high, with 224 patients per nurse in 2022. This imbalance poses significant challenges to patient care, contributing to excessive workloads, heightened stress levels among nurses, extended waiting times, and insufficient attention to individual patient needs.

On the otherhand, a new era has emerged of digital nurses where technology is playing a role in making primary healthcare accessible and affordable. Technology is also helping nurses to not only provide improved patient care, build professional development and open up educational resources. In this panel, we want to speak to healthcare providers and nurses actively using virtual platforms to provide essential care in a time where less people can afford medical schemes to cover the cost of healthcare.
