Labour rights and ethical business practices in the construction sector

View descriptionShare

Exploitation in the construction sector has been rife for many years as it is an industry that is mostly made-up of casual labour. History has shown how things go wrong when sometimes unqualified people are made to work resulting in buildings collapsing and so on. Well this may become a thing of the past as the Department of Employment and Labour (DEL), together with its social partners, the International Labour Organization, the Federated Employers Mutual Assurance Company, and the Compensation Fund are uniting to support labour rights and ethical business practices in the construction sector.

Guest: Aggy Moiloa - Inspector General in the Department of Employment and Labour

Guest: Naomy Lintini - Project Manager for SADC Region at the International Labour Organisation
