Is the quality of education system perpetuating inequality?

We speak now to Tracey Webster, Chief Executive of the Oppenheimer Memorial Trust. She’s says that a “seismic shift” in the education system is required to break the cycle of poverty and inequality in the country. One of the things she highlights is that South Africa is well aware of the issues that persist in the education system and has the skills and resources to address them. However, she says it will require genuine collaboration between leaders in civil society, academia, philanthropy, the private sector and government to ensure every person has access to quality education at every phase of their journey. This she revealed when launching their Education Research Report earlier this month. T
