Last Friday the 8th of September marked International Literacy Day with initiatives from many organisations all trying to interest people in reading. The big question is how can we jointly win this battle? Could it help if we also prioritised reading in our mother tongues? Also how do we compete with children who seem to be more interested in their phones than reading books?
Guest: Dr Yanga Majola - Tshwane University of Technology lecturer at the Department of Applied Languages
Guest(Studio): Yamkela Tywakadi - Author of 15 books who writes in English, Isixhosa and IsiZulu
