Sibusiso "Mash" Mashiloane has released several critically acclaimed albums, and his latest, Isigqi, pays homage to the pulse of township life, wisdom passed between generations, and the enduring sound of home. He recently graduated with a doctorate from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where he researched local jazz identity and the ways South African musicians give voice to their heritage through jazz.
