Friday Wind Down with Ntsikwane

View descriptionShare

Our next guest is an afro-folk singer and guitarist from Solomondale, a small township outside Polokwane - Limpopo. She started her career in 2007 and her simple, yet soulful songs have attracted a loyal audience which has grown since the release of her debut album titled 'Wonderful' in 2007. Her stage appearances have been laced with an aura that is hard to ignore, a deeply grown natural ability to draw you into her sound.

After the release of her second album ‘The Soul Experiment’ in 2013, her star rose among a listenership tired of jaded stories and celebrated violence. Her music is about being real in a world sidetracked by commercial emptiness and stereotypes. A celebration of life, its highs and lows, and the good old desire to be able to join in the chorus of life’s musical journey. Ntsikwane is the recepient of two Limpopo Music Awards for 'Best African Pop' and performed on TEDx Johannesburg Salon entitled: Longing for the light, thanking my ancestors in 2020.
