Friday chat with the Inkatha Freedom Party

View descriptionShare

Today, we focus on the manifesto of the Inkatha Freedom Party which launched its 13-point plan last month in Durban. Since then, it has held its provincial manifesto launch in Ulundu, KZN this week. In their programme of action, the IFP seeks to end loadshedding and reassess the role of state-owned enterprises. The party seeks to prioritize citizens for employment as well as business opportunities. It seeks to address access to land by using Ingonyama Trust as a model. On social issues, the party has spent time to unpack social protection in the country by seeking to increase the social grants and expand food vouchers. The party has notably included a new group in social protection: graduates. The party will also seek to curb the cost of data and reduce the cost of access to information.

Guest: Hon. Velenkosini Hlabisa – President of Inkatha Freedom Front and Member of Parliament
