This past week marked a crucial moment as thought leaders gather at the conference on Accelerating Equality in Food, Land, and Water Systems, addressing urgent challenges impacting millions worldwide. The event highlighted solutions to systemic inequality in resource access and sustainability, topics currently dominating the global news agenda due to climate change and food security concerns.

In South Africa, women only own 13% of farmable land and youth only have access to land through inheritance or rental schemes. Barriers for women and youth in South Africa's food, water, and land systems include unequal access to land, finance, markets for products and climate change impacts.
